Out of Sight

This book shows the perfect blend in dystopia and graffiti/street art work. Here are a few images which show this.

Subway Art 25th anniversary edition

These images show the first signs of street art being a problem (creating a dystopia environment). The graffiti artist used the trains to show off their work as hundreds of people used them every day.

Turner Contemporary (Nothing in the World but Youth)

These are photos of the 'nothing in the world but youth' exhibition at Turners. This is where I came up with the idea to document the areas graffiti/street artist choose to spray or tag. I think showing this in a map could present the information in a visual way.

The Book of Great Disasters

Here are some images showing that disasters have been happening for a long time and all around the world, almost proving that a utopia may not be in reach but with out these disasters how would technology, architecture, and design improve enough to reach utopia.

Design of Decent

Here are some interesting advertising ideas, using everyday things and signs to show modern day dystopia. Using ideas like this forces you to think about the world and your life.

Stencil Graffiti

Here are some images from two of the most influential stencil graffiti artist or street artist. Blek used full size stencils of religious and political figures and chose run down streets to show his art work. Banksy on the other hand used a wide range of stencils and varied where he would spray. Some of banksy more popular work shows a more political side shown in some of the images below. A good documentary that explains a lot about graffiti and street art is Graffiti Wars.

Britain from Above

This book shows a contrast of britains architecture, old and new. The images also reflect, that to get to a utopian city the building must go up rather than out to save space. This is mainly course by the change in culture as families and businesses get bigger.

The War Time Scrapbook

This book is showing war time propaganda against hitler, it also shows victory posters, which head towards a utopia.

911 (The World Trade Centre)

Here are a few images of the destruction of the world trade building and a image of what they propose to build in there place, the link underneath shows a short video of both. The attack on these buildings didn't just effect America but the whole world as terrorisms hit the main stream media.
